Windows 8 or 8.1 and Windows 10 store network usage information in the SRUDB.dat database. NirSoft’s free NetworkUsageView application extracts this information from the database and conveniently presents it on its interface. So if you need to view network usage info, go get NetworkUsageView and it will let you easily review said information.
NetworkUsageView doesn’t need to be installed, which means that to get it up and running you’ll have to download an archive, extract its contents, and run NetworkUsageView.exe. Please note that NetworkUsageView should be used on a PC that runs Windows 8, 8.1, or 10. That’s because older Windows editions do not collect network usage information.
The main panel on NetworkUsageView’s interface should list all the items that the application extracted from the operating system’s SRUDB.dat database. If the main panel is blank then you should try running NetworkUsageView with admin rights.
Launch NetworkUsageView and it will access the SRUDB.dat database, extract all the network usage information that is stored in the database, and then it will present everything on its interface. The list features the following elements: record ID, timestamp, app name, app description, user name, user SID, bytes sent, bytes received, network adapter. The list can be exported as an HTML file.
NirSoft’s NetworkUsageView is free software. All products developed by Nir Sofer and distributed via NirSoft are free. If you like any of them, you could support the developer by making a donation.
